I’m talking about the ones you know are smart and logical in every other aspect of life but still believe in God. I’m respectful to these kinds of people but a lot of time i’m screaming in my head “Why do you believe in God? Have you ever truly thought about your religion?!” It makes me feel really guilty that I think this way and I was just wondering if I was the only one.
Yes, I do have a hard time understanding some religious people. People with fine minds and good educations. People who believe in evolution and love watching science documentaries and love science fiction and who are pro-choice and pro-gay rights and still go every Sunday to eat Christ McWafers and listen to teachings from a 2000 year old book.
I don’t dislike these people. I don’t feel guilty. I just don’t understand them. O.o

My whole family is this. I think most people follow religion purely out of habit and tradition. I wonder how many truly believe. I guess it’s too much work to ask questions and think.
Me, too. How many people are willing to curl up in your lap while you read at night? Even my wife won’t do that.
Plus, as arrogant as it sounds, most people are just too devoid of common sense and reason for me to want to deal with them. Talking with stupid people who don’t realize they are stupid is strenuous on the brain.
